Who is George Jacob?

President and CEO of the largest conservation non-profit group in the Bay Area, he leads the Smithsonian-affiliated Aquarium of the Bay and 7 institutions in San Francisco with ongoing projects in Norway, Japan, Jamaica, Cocos and Dubai. In 2018, he unveiled the vision for a $260 million transformation of the aquarium into the world’s first climate and ocean conservation living museum.

Founding Director of 4 Award-winning museums and 108 stellar museum projects around the world, George Jacob is one of the leading museum thinkers of our time. He is a Commonwealth Scholar and Fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society. He has served on numerous boards including CASC, ICOM Canada, and CAM and is currently on the boards of ICOM USA, Bay Area Council, US Travel, and Cal Travel.
